Screening Room

The Screening Room offers quality cinematic arts of yesteryear adding a touch of nostalgia mixed with modern day technology of digitalized movies and sound.

Partnering a marriage of old world silver screen of yesteryear with 21st century technology has been a labour of love at the Centre for Performing ARTS, as founding members began the tedious task of identifying modern projection equipment and restoring the beautiful silver screen to launch The Screening Room at the start of the new year. After 3 years of research into finding a suitable digital projection system to work with the dynamics of the room as well as the giant silver screen, and countless hours of restoring the original screen from Yeo’s theatre, the staff at the Centre accomplished their mission in 2008. In summer of 2008 a successful installation of equipment was completed, the theatre once again illuminated the giant silver screen with films of all genres, new and old..

Moving The Screening Room to the new facility in 2009 allowed an increase of comfortable seating in the large theatre room, as well as for intimate seating, with a lounge, tables and chairs, with a full service canteen and bar in the smaller theatre room, enabling multi events to be coordianted as well as settings geared appropriately for the size of the events.
